Job Description Function as the supervisor during 2nd shift operations at Consolidated Warehouse. This role includes direct supervision of Material Handlers and Heavy Equipment Operators. This supervisor will develop and execute performance goals and expectations for the shift. Detailed end of shift notes will be documented to pass on to first supervision.
Support the transition to a Total Safety Culture within the 2nd shift operation at Consolidated Warehouse. Perform safety audits (daily, weekly, and monthly) and drive the correction of safety concerns.
Coach and mentor employees.
Support accurate inventory and capacity reports.
Assist in Material Control and Warehousing performance improvement initiatives as assigned.
Assist with weekly metrics and reporting.
Required Education/Training BS degree in business management / logistics, or Graduate BIW Apprentice preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of Hazardous Materials shipping and storage practices.
Knowledge of continuous process improvement methodology.
Experience Experience related to materials, inventory, or warehousing preferred.
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Experience with Time Accounting System (TAS) preferred.
Knowledge of SAP, BMCS, and MACPAC preferred.
Knowledge of material practices at BIW.
PC skills required (Microsoft Office suite).
Experience working in an organized labor environment preferred.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Written and oral communication required.
Unique/Additional Requirements Self-motivated individual with positive attitude.
Problem solving ability and conflict resolution.
Serve as overtime supervisor as required.
Proven customer service track record.
Ability to obtain SECRET clearance.
