POSITION SUMMARY TRC is seeking a Principal Investigator with a specialization in Historic Archaeology reporting to our Bath, ME Office.
This person will work on large-scale and small-scale projects throughout Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence.
The successful candidate will enjoy the challenges of working alongside others in a fast-paced environment and of helping to develop effective solutions to both expected and unexpected project challenges.
The position will require frequent travel away from the home office.
This person will provide leadership and technical support for research, fieldwork, as well as the collection, synthesis and analysis of data related to project implementation and completion.
This person will also interface with clients and prepare scopes of work and proposals for acquiring new work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - TASKS Direct all types of archeological projects, ranging from small local surveys through large, multi-year multi-state projects Handle planning, logistics, and supervision of fieldwork for projects as assigned and author reports, under the direction of the Project Manager/Principal Investigator Promote TRC safety and quality standards, policies and procedures and ensure field employees comply Ensure that all work and data collected are accurate, organized, and of high quality Abide by Company policies and procedures Other duties and special projects as assigned QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Graduate degree in Anthropology or Archaeology (or closely related field) Meet the Secretary of the Interior-s Professional Qualification Standards for archaeology Minimum of three years of regional cultural resource management archaeology experience including the identification of eastern United States- cultural material Must be eligible for listing on the Maine State Historic Preservation Commissions Level 1 or Level 2 Historic Archaeologist List A recognized authority in one or more technical and research aspects of cultural resource management archaeology Ability to author technical reports including identification studies, testing and excavation reports, monitoring reports, and cultural resource management plans Experience supervising field staff Willing to travel, often with little advance notice Self motivated, organized, and with a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence A commitment to safety Ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner, with a track record of meeting deadlines The ability to work well on a team and individually Not Required, but Preferred:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal and management skills Basic knowledge of Section 106 and state and federal regulations and environmental review processes and requirements Familiarity with digital field technology (ARCGIS, units, tablets, cameras) TRC is an equal opportunity employer:

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
