Summary You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY DEPARTMENT (Code 182), of Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair, Bath, ME.
Responsibilities You will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing and managing the Operations Security (OPSEC) program.
You will establish OPSEC orientation for new employees, as well as annual refresher training for the command.
You will represent the command on OPSEC related matters at security conferences, meetings, and when dealing with higher echelon commands or commercial industrial organizations.
You will develop long-range program plans, goals, objectives, and milestones to evaluate the effectiveness of the OPSEC Program throughout the command.
You will conduct staff visits to SSBA Departments and Detachments throughout the activities enterprise to review, discuss, coordinate, and evaluate local OPSEC programs.
You will conduct quarterly threat working group (TWG) meetings with representatives from all directorates to provide the latest information and to monitor and identify current/future OPSEC issues.
You will ensure OPSEC measures are continuously updated in order to adapt to changes in the operational environment and mitigate evolving threats.
You will supports readiness training and exercises by monitoring and evaluating OPSEC practices and by obtaining outside assistance, as appropriate, to provide realistic simulation of adversary intelligence collection capabilities and techniques.
You will establish procedures to ensure that contract requirements properly reflect OPSEC responsibilities and that those responsibilities are included in both classified and unclassified contracts when appropriate.
You will develop, implement and monitor internal policy, instructions, procedures and control systems for all aspects of Information Security and regulation of the command?s Classified Material Control Program.
You will provide oversight and guidance in Marking, Safeguarding, Dissemination, Transmission and Transportation, Storage and Destruction of sensitive information.
Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For the GS-12:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Analyzing security policies and procedures of Operations Security and classified information with regards to material transmission and transportation, safeguarding and storage of sensitive information to resolve vulnerabilities and improve effectiveness for a security program.
For the GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Analyzing security policies and procedures to identify vulnerabilities of Operations Security and classified material to develop and execute mitigation strategies to resolve problems and improve effectiveness for a security program.
