Job DescriptionResponsibilities include:
Plan, organize, and manage work for Trade Inspectors at Bath facility as well as at Structural Fabrication and Outfit Fabrication facilities.
Responsible for building a team environment that maintains team moral, encourages cooperation between members and improves the quality of their work while executing work on time and on schedule.
Responsible for continually training team members on current processes and new processes.
Ensure safe work conditions, share all safety related communications, and assure adherence to safety requirements/regulations.
Ensure attention to inspection costs and manage staffing to the approved levels.
Ensure inspection efforts are conducted professionally and completely within the guidance of applicable requirements of weld Engineering.
Assign work, provide status to Management and keep an eye on full support to Manufacturing.
Understand, support, and administer the LS7 union labor contract.
Communicate with fellow supervisors to help achieve a smooth work flow and a high degree of productivity.
Use electronic work force management (WFM) to maintain employees time, overtime, and charges on a daily basis.
Required/Preferred Education/TrainingHigh School Diploma or GED required.
Graduate apprentice preferred.
Experience in structural trades preferred.
VT certification preferred, though will train the appropriate candidate.
Required/Preferred ExperienceTwo (2) years of Structural or Welding experience preferred.
Previous supervisory experience in a production environment preferred.
Solid understanding of shipbuilding and/or manufacturing processes required.
Understanding of MACPAC system preferred.
Working understanding of Microsoft Office products preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
Work history of positive working relationships with peers required.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflict preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities preferred.
Demonstrated ability to build highly effective teams.
