Mechanical Contract Engineer

Work Description:
Engineer with 5- 10 years' experience in marine design and some experience in operations. Experience with both military and commercial operational practices a strong desire. A Bachelor's degree is required; an operator's license / EOOW letter is useful but not necessary.
Additional skills include:
a. The demonstrated ability to parse requirements from multiple resources to identify design options for distributed system design is a necessity. Familiarity with USN standards necessary.
b. Moderate or better AutoCAD skills are mandatory as is the demonstrated ability to learn new schematic and 3D design tools with training as recommended by the software developer. Existing 3D design skills are a plus.
c. Past experience with piping system design for compressible and incompressible flow are required. Experience across both military, non-military government and commercial vessels an asset.
d. Demonstrated ability to conduct basic pressure drop and pipe stress calculations using Excel is necessary. Crane Fluid Flow or similar experience is a plus.
e. Demonstrated excellent technical writing skills are necessary. These skills should have been demonstrated in the development of technical procurement documents, technical reports, and / or instructions to installation personnel.
f. The ability to successfully collaborate across systems and disciplines to identify optimal customer solutions is a required skill.
g. Familiarity with incorporation of design for manufacturing standards is preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
